Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) is delighted that seven services across the area have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2023 HSJ awards.

Among the nominations in the area, BOB ICB has been nominated for, An ‘all-ages by design’ approach to Palliative and End of Life Care. This programme has been shortlisted for the Integrated Care Initiative of the Year category.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has also received shortlist nominations for two awards, Bucks Breast Unit: Pioneering the MagTotal approach to improve breast cancer surgery. (Acute Sector Innovation of the Year category) and Inpatient Pain Team - Mobile Block Service (Medicines, Pharmacy and Prescribing Initiative of the Year category).

In addition, Oxford University NHS FT has been shortlisted for two awards. These are for the Integrated Severe Asthma Project (ISAC) (Medicines, Pharmacy and Prescribing Initiative of the Year category), as well as Our #OneTeamOneOUH approach to supporting staff with the cost-of-living programme. (Staff Wellbeing category)

Berkshire Healthcare NHS FT and Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley has received a nomination for BRAVE: Building Resilience and Valuing Emotions after Domestic Abuse. (Mental Health Innovation of the Year category).

Royal Berkshire NHS FT has also been shortlisted for, Gurkha Community and SSAFA – Supporting our Gurkha Community. (Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award)

Nick Broughton, interim Chief Executive at BOB ICB said: “It’s fantastic that a wide range of services and programmes from across our health and care system have been shortlisted for HSJ awards. This is recognition of the excellent work happening here and the positive impact that these initiatives have on the communities we serve.  

“All the teams shortlisted for an award have demonstrated excellence in health and care. Each nomination is a great achievement in a year when the HSJ received a significant number of entries for awards. BOB ICB is delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the outstanding work in our system.”

The winners will be announced at the annual HSJ Awards on 16 November.
