In commemoration of Black History Month, Oxford University Health is running a series of virtual events celebrating black history and culture in the UK and beyond. All ICB staff are welcome to join. Please see below for the relevant Teams links.

 

Tuesday 11 October, 1-2pm

Lisa Anderson, Director of Black Cultural Archives, and Dr ‘H’ Patten, choreographer, storyteller and lecturer, will join us to celebrate and raise awareness of the African and Caribbean cultural heritage through visual art and storytelling. You can register for the event on Microsoft Teams.

Based on ‘Exposed’, a groundbreaking documentary that combines the stories of 19 ethnic minority nurses who speak about their powerful experiences of racism, before, during and after the pandemic. Our Webinar brings together some eminent guests – Felicia Kwaku – Associate Director of Nursing at Kings College Hospital, Professor Calvin Moorley and BHT’s Director of Nursing, Karen Bonner to discuss the experiences of these 19 nurses and to look at initiatives that we can put in place to prevent this in future in BHT. Click here to join the meeting .  However, You must email James.Sheppard@nhs.net to register ahead of the event.’
