People at increased risk from severe illness can get the booster, including those aged 75 or over (on 30 June 2024), people with a weakened immune system, or who live in an older adult care home.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out an inspection of the Midwifery-led Unit at the Horton General Hospital site in Banbury on 23 October 2023. They reviewed the service considering the Safe and Well-led domains and concluded that both were rated Requires Improvement. This rating has led the rating for this site being changed to Requires Improvement overall.

This year’s national No Smoking Day is Wednesday 13 March and the goal is simple: to encourage people who smoke to stop for a day (in the hope of stopping for good).  

Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) has pledged to help local smokers quit the habit in line with the Government’s plans to make the country smokefree by 2030. 

Junior doctors are due to take further strike action for five days from 7am on Saturday 24 February.
